London-based alternative electronic artist Sink unveils his debut album, Flaw State, a dark, elegant, and emotionally layered soundscape shaped over two years in his South-East London studio.
Described by Sink as “a weary journey toward acceptance, divided between horror and beauty,” the album brings imperfection to the forefront, through richly textured electronic production, haunting vocals, and carefully sculpted contrasts. The result is a deeply personal sonic narrative that straddles genres with fluid intensity.
On Flaw State, Sink blurs the line between emotive songwriting and intricate sound design. While drawing inspiration from Bon Iver, FKA Twigs, and Son Lux, the album carves out its own space in experimental electronica—marked by a striking interplay of ethereal melodies and gritty textures, pairing intimate vocal moments with expansive, cinematic soundscapes.
The production is both spacious and deliberate, balancing melancholic stillness with an underlying tension. Each track unfolds like an emotional terrain: unpredictable, immersive, and emotionally resonant. Additional contributions from Rival Consoles, violinist Siobhán McCafferty, and composer Robert Murray Jamieson add further depth, with mixing by Alex O’Donovan and Cristiano Nicolini elevate the album’s atmospheric clarity.
A captivating sonic experience where discomfort and beauty collide, the album sees Sink firmly establish himself as a bold, distinctive voice in alternative electronic music.
