Dublin-based rapper Beano marks an exciting new chapter in his sonic journey with new EP Trap #7, a seven-track project that pays ode to a legendary set of nineties hip-hop influences with its genre-hopping soundscape.
Blending pounding percussion, smooth flow and conscious lyricism, the engrossing EP features contributions from contemporaries Verb T, Panda Drey and Donkobz.
Discussing the project, produced by fellow Ireland-based contemporary No Venom, Beano says, “Sonically, the project is cohesive and that comes from both myself and No Venom, the lyrical content is personal and some of my best to date – crafting stories and concepts while pulling on influences from both the present day and my childhood.”
From thoughtful anthems like “TOUBKAL,” to the nostalgic feels of the title track, the EP is intimate and expansive all at once as it continues to push the boundaries of contemporary hip-hop. With the modern yet timeless vibe of his musicality, Beano cements his status as a fast-rising hip-hop star with his latest project.
