The rapper/producer collaborative approach has become a staple in rap. In many ways harks back to the early days of the genre when one producer handled one project after the other. Now hard-working Flagler Beach, FL producer Mike Martinez and Long Island MC Coast LoCastro deliver this cross-coast collaboration titled Coast LoCastro & Mike Martinez Volume 1. to our earshot. The 6 track project is entirely produced by Mike Martinez who crafts a cohesive and cinematic body of work that is anchored on the essence of raw, unfiltered underground aesthetics. Coast LoCastro on the other hand, brings his A-game as he blitzes through the tracks like a man on a warpath. He also brings along a few guest stars like Mr. Misk, Big Dese and Eff Yoo to join the fray.
While there are stand-out tracks like the ominous "F.A.A.F.O" and the Spanish guitar-laden "Mangia," it's the lead single "Make Enough" that gets the visual treatment. The track sees Coast LoCastro and Eff Yoo trading raw, unfiltered bars over Mike Martinez's brooding backdrop. The visual is a performance affair and we get to see both emcees pushing exquisite foreign cars while flexing on the broke rappers who try too hard to be cool.
