Rising Indian/East African/Danish independent producer and songwriter Veronica D’Souza shares reflective single “A Mountain,” a vibrant soundscape fading into a bold and thought-provoking lyrical expression of breaking free of the world’s outdated paradigms.

An empowering celebration of feminine energy and friendship, the poignant track calls for equality and a space for us to blossom beyond the world order of late patriarchy, extractive economics, and power games.

Rebellious and refreshing, the uplifting number calls for a matriarchal society where there is balance between genders, generations, between humans and nature.

Speaking of the track, she says, “Instead of asking for a seat at the table, this song is asking for new tables. It’s asking for tables where magic, feminine energy, nature, collaboration and friendships rule. And it’s asking for gatekeepers to step down from the boardrooms to give space for a new world grounded in values of equity, stewardship, and collectivity. Our future depends on making space for those who build from a different set of rules.”

The powerful offering is taken to new heights by accompanying music video directed by Veronica and shot with the help of acclaimed Danish film director and screenwriter Martin de Thurah. Crafting a striking vision of hope for the future young girls do not have to abide by destructive systems but can rebuild from friendship and goodness, the vivid visuals is underscored by sweetness and strength as it features Veronica’s young daughters and their friends, a new generation, ruling their world of kindness, capturing the serious sentiments of the track with a touch of heartfelt sensitivity.

An extension of D’Souza’s feminist and multicultural approach, her artistry weaves layered storytelling that spans genres and stands tall for its ability to evoke solidarity, equality and respect among us.
