Producer and Nigerian hip hop pioneer Teck-Zilla is back with "Naija Women." The marathon track features five talented female emcees, all hailing from Nigeria: JXXIII, Quinja, Sentence, Yada, and Reespect.
Teck-Zilla, who lives across the pond in the UK, provides a booming and cinematic soundscape for the five rappers to skate over. The quintet share their experiences as women making headway in a male-dominated space. The lyrics spotlight their Nigerian roots, as well as their trials, tribulations, strengths, and passions as women carving a niche in the game.
Teck has a penchant for these multi-spitter, baton-pass-style bangers. "Victory," for example, is another hard-hitting single in which multiple emcees take turns trading bars. Peep the rest of Teck-Zilla's catalog for more thumping beats and substantive rhymes.
