Mild Minds confirms forthcoming sophomore album via Foreign Family Collective and releases “TEARDROPS”

Mild Minds has confirmed his highly anticipated sophomore album is set for release via ODESZA's Foreign Family Collective imprint in February of 2025. The confirmation of the record arrives in tandem with the release of the album's mesmerizing first single "TEARDROPS," and the unveiling of an extensive North American and European tour itinerary to support his second full body of work.

"TEARDROPS" offers listeners the first glimpse into the next evolution of Mild Minds’ soundscape. The track boasts an elevated, uplifting delivery of the Mild Minds signature – exemplifying David’s ability to craft intricate, emotionally charged compositions that resonate on both cerebral and visceral levels with his listeners.

At the heart of his forthcoming album lies a poignant reflection on humanity in a digital age. Benjamin David explains, "The album brings together sounds you would normally hear only in club genres and recontextualizes them, paired with melancholic emotions that one wouldn't usually hear transcribed by such sounds."

The forthcoming album will stand as Mild Minds' second full body of work released on Foreign Family Collective, following his 2020 debut MOOD. Sonically, the album plans to reference turn-of-the-century club music, utilising breaks, airy pads, and chopped 2000s R&B samples, a nod to early trance and ethereal bittersweet vocals. The album is poised to showcase Mild Minds' development as a producer, delving deeper into the intersection of organic and electronic soundscapes that have become his hallmark.

The announcement is further amplified by the reveal of an accompanying tour, kicking off in Washington, DC. This ambitious tour will see Mild Minds gracing the stages of renowned venues across major cities, including Brooklyn, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and more. The tour promises to be a multi-sensory experience, translating the nuanced textures and emotive depth of the record into a captivating live performance with tickets available here.

This trifecta of announcements – the album, single, and tour – follows a remarkably productive period for Mild Minds. Earlier this year, David launched his own record label, MOODS INTL., expanding his influence within the industry and providing a platform for both emerging and established artists. Additionally, his collaborative project LUV HRTS with Victor Pakpour of Ruby Haunt has garnered significant attention.

Mild Minds continues to solidify his position as a pioneering force in electronic music. His genre-defying approach has drawn comparisons to luminaries such as Bonobo, Maribou State, Caribou, and Four Tet while maintaining a distinctly unique identity. With an impressive catalogue and a rapidly expanding international fanbase, his forthcoming album is set to be the next defining moment in Mild Minds' trajectory, further cementing his status as one of electronic music's most innovative and emotive voices.
