London-based indie-pop singer/songwriter Seymour unveils a dark and brooding tale of emotional betrayal on intense offering “Voicenote Monologue,” where she combines empowered vocals with elegant melodies.

Opening with swirling electric guitars and grounding bass lines that build towards furious percussion and climactic riffs, the delicate yet mighty offering brims with emotion on every note before tapering off in tender, lo-fi touches.

A track built on the vulnerability of feeling betrayed by a friend, the track is deeply personal yet relatable as it works toward letting go of the fake friendship and hurt with a cathartic release.

Speaking of the track, Seymour says, “The song talks about my experience with a friend who I had spent years opening up to and supporting only to find out they'd been talking about my private life to other people. The lyrics discuss how I felt betrayed yet stupid for falling for their years of manipulation and how much I regretted all the energy I had spent supporting them over the years.”

Amalgamating jazz, rock and indie under the lens of abstract lyrics and upbeat atmospheric melodies with freeing, non-judgemental lyrical narratives, Seymour taps into her own journey and encourages us to work through our own troubles as she sets herself up as an up-and-coming talent.
