Zach McKenzie is back with a new single that's sure to stir your soul – "The Day That I Found You". This song wears its heart on its sleeve, showing off McKenzie's powerful set of pipes and his natural talent for turning any lyric into an emotional gut punch.

It's been quite the journey for McKenzie since he was on American Idols 12th go-around. Even though he didn't stick around long, getting cut early didn't squash his dreams of making it in music. If anything, it lit a fire under him and mckenzie kept sharpening his skills playing gigs at legendary venues in Nashville and back home in Arkansas. All that hard work paid off, cementing his reputation for a unique musical blend drawing from country, soul, gospel – you name it.

There's no doubt "The Day That I Found You" comes from an intensely personal place in McKenzies heart. He delivers each line with such raw feeling you can't help but be moved. The lyrics touch on the kind of universal emotional themes we all connect to – love, loss, healing. And McKenzie makes you feel every bit of it in his own soulful style. The melody's got that pulling-at-your-heartstrings vibe too. Altogether, sounds to me like the kind of song that sticks with you for awhile.

McKenzie just reaffirmed it with this single – he's definitely one to watch in this business. Dude lives for music 24/7 and has a gift for reaching out and making that human connection with his audience. Both those things come through loud and clear in "The Day That I Found You". Its not just a showcase for an incredible set of pipes. . . it's an invitation to step into McKenzie's world for a few minutes. However long the song lasts sounds like time darn well spent to me.
