Toronto-born rising singer and pianist Raquel makes a strong impression with debut EP Wishing on Stars, delivering a smooth blend of RnB/Pop and electronic across six tracks that weave through expression and emotion.
Evoking vivid images of nature such as space, the night sky, sunsets, and stars, the soulful project which includes hits such as “With You,” featuring TVGUCCI, “Angel,” featuring Kofi and “Make You Mine,” is one that offers us a glimpse of Raquel’s inner world with tenderness and confidence.
Speaking of the album, she says, “I was able to release Wishing On Stars within just a few months of being an artist in the music industry, so it’s definitely a project that I’m proud of! There’s some really talented artists featured on the album as well, so it was a really fun project to work on.”
Pulling from her love of astronomy and the natural world, the album showcases Raquel’s intuitive song writing style that sees her tap into her inner emotions and captures her ability to seamlessly weaves elements of the natural world into her sonic landscape.
