Fie Eike confronts darkness and cultivates light in “The Nile”

Fie Eike gracefully navigates her deepest fears in her debut single, “The Nile.” Encouraging listeners to embark on a journey through the unexplored depths of darkness, she speaks of the benefits of facing your fears.

The Copenhagen-based artist shares, “I feel like we live in a time where we have, in many ways, developed a kind of allergy towards darkness and fear as something we should avoid. But trying to deny the existence of darkness and fear only allows it to grow over time, and eventually it gains more power over our subconscious and our lives. It is my experience that daring to explore the darkness and being present with it, not only expands our capacity for darkness but also expands our capacity for light, happiness and joy. In the end, there is no light without darkness and no love without fear.”

Her intriguing and captivating story is told through an amalgamation of sounds and styles, as she collides the art-pop, neo-classical and electronica worlds to create something that is distinctly her own. Exuding an ethereal ambiance, the unembellished track revolves around pure and organic instruments, with a glowing piano melody taking center stage.

“The Nile” is the perfect example of Fie Eike expressing how nature has had a profound influence on her sound. Combined with her Nordic heritage and sophisticated songwriting, this artist has concocted a mesmeric aural potion that will keep you coming back time and time again.
