Rising Bristol artist Badliana might be a newcomer but her fantastic trajectory and edgy fusion of Grime, Rap, and R&B is putting her on the map. With a debut EP Diary Of a Loner, numerous performances on stages like FUZE, and two Glastonbury Festival appearances under her belt, she sure is making a name for herself. She is currently working on her sophomore EP but in the meantime, she shares her new single "Bad" which also comes with an exciting visual.
Produced and co-written with frequent collaborator, Mussi, "Bad" is an unapologetic statement that calls for our undivided attention. Over the high-octane bass-driven backdrop, Badliana brings forth a refreshing demeanour peppered with boastful lines like "Best believe me, if I said I'm gonna do it/ it gonna get done, I want another one/I get the next one, I'm the stepmom, I treat emcees like step son/Teach them their A-B-Cs/ treat me like queen when they see me". She seems perfectly at home here and her expressive flow really cuts through the punchy backdrop laid before her.
The visual by Charlie France is a mixed bag of elements ranging from vibrant dance routines, stylish performance shots, dark moody lighting and set pieces that tap into Badliana's edgy style and irreverent attitude.
