Rising Australia-hailing talent Hattie Oates shares emotionally charged anthem “YOU COULD LOVE ME BACK,” delving into the themes of vulnerability and the fear of falling in love within a cinematic and down-tempo soundscape.
The heartfelt production which taps into her ability to weave captivating sonic tales through poignant lyricism while rooted in her charismatic and commanding vocal style, traces Oates’ journey in learning to be more vulnerable in love instead of fearing a potential heartache.
Speaking of the track, she says "I have never fallen in love, and frankly, it scares me, so I keep it at a distance. I’m trying to learn how to be more vulnerable in many areas of my life, and I guess writing this song is at least one step in the right direction! I wanted to write a song about allowing myself to fall for someone, not thinking about whether it's going to be a 'mistake,' or end in an absolute 'car crash' of a 'heartache,' but at least be open to feeling something, even if it hurts.”
Known for her soulful artistry that tugs at our heartstrings and intrigues the mind, Oates is entering a new era of empowerment and maturity in her music as she continues to solidify her position as a rising star in the music industry.
