Celebrating the iconic sounds of 80's pop funk, Solarrio and Holland Izz have joined creative forces to deliver a funky gem, "NLF." This irresistibly uptempo synthpop single boasts disco-style electric guitar strums, wobbling synths, and a groovy bassline. With a deep appreciation for 80's legends like Prince, Rick James, and the production prowess of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Solarrio infuses the track with a nostalgic vibe while infusing a modern twist.
"NLF" serves as an exciting glimpse into what's in store with Solarrio's forthcoming debut album, All The Wrong Places.
Solarrio shares, "I knew I wanted to get Holland Izz on this song, I was looking for the right track to feature him on. This felt like a perfect fit since we're both huge Rick James/Prince fans and this song definitely feels like an homage to them. I decided to use a vocal sample from another Holland Izz song that I co-produced called "Do it on the concrete", which became one of the main lines, "She a nasty lil freak". Once I added that it all started coming together and Holland sent me back his verse. Definitely not the last song we will be doing together."
