Emerging independent singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Phoebe Willo follows up successful release “Lost in the Music,” and a crowd funding campaign that raised over $30,000 with dreamy new number “4am.”

Opening with minimal pianos layered over ethereal backing vocals, the track moves slowly to allow Willo’s wispy yet emotive vocals to take centre stage, before layers of strings and percussion join in for a stunning melody that builds to a climatic yet calm ending.

Rooted in ruminations about regrets, missed opportunities and relationships that didn’t work out, the track is personal yet able to strike a chord with anyone who can understand the twinge of what-ifs that prick our hearts at times.

With a carefully honed musicality that blends indie pop with a range of styles alongside her personal feelings, Willo is an intensely sensitive but empowering talent who is steadily on the rise.
