Sacramento, California-based Mexican/American rapper Showtime Ramon has been releasing a flurry of songs in the past few months where he pays homage to individuals ranging from professional sports players, actors and others and now he returns with the latest entry titled "Gem Kelly". The track produced MZondatrack by is built on moody and dark textures with downtempo boom-bap drum breaks underpinned by Showtime Ramon's laidback unassuming cadence. Here, he pays homage to the legendary Karate champion/actor Jim Kelly and his unorthodox style that made waves in the 70s and early 80s. Showtime wastes no time and gets down to the nitty-gritty with bars like "Speed Bruce Lee/Tracks on Chuck Norris man, rap superstar slide off in an electric voyage/making bigger moves, putting bitches in figure four, made a thousand songs, spitting shit you ain't heard before" and adds on a handful of martial arts references to close out the track.

Since 2020 Showtime has claimed collaborations with notable artists such as Chuuwee, Trizz, Sir Michael Rocks of The Cool Kids, Young L of The Pack & arguably the most influential artist of modern rap Lil B The Based God. Collectively, Showtime has released over 20 projects. The Chronicles (2011) Lethal Dos with the late Stizzy Staxx (2012) Monday Nitro (2012) Badboy (2013) The Flourishers (2013) Precious Metal Gems RED (2016) Gemspitter (2017) Lick it off (2019) Goat Tape (2020) Time Traveler (2020) Mercedes Girl (2020) Aurum (2020) Game Changer (2020) Dripp Tape (2021), Diamond Flair (2021) Girl From The Hills (2021) (6 of which are Gieftapes 1-6 released 2020-2021) Rare Breed 1 (2022) Rare Breed 2 (2022), Rare Breed 3 (2022) Gem Spitter 1.5 (2022) Venom Dripp (2023)
