Germany-based multi-talented genre-bending singer-songwriter Violet Greens aims to bridge the gaps between jazz, contemporary pop music and hip hop in her own distinct manner. With her style steeped in jazz, she has found her own musical language blending the other genres into her foundations and being influenced by legendary acts like Billie Holiday, George Benson, and Dionne Warwick to new age legends such as Erykah Badu, Kendrick Lamar, Robert Glasper and more sure adds to her repertoire. Her latest release is a double single "F_in the Rain" and "Fallin'" featuring rapper Slim Guerilla.
The first cut "F_in the Rain"  is a heartfelt and reflective tune that talks about an individual affected by toxic relationships and how it has affected them over time. The track has a solemn and soulful feel with its warm keys, and smooth bass-laden drum grooves all underpinned by Violet's rich melodic runs and unapologetic and introspective songwriting. She runs through the various actions of this individual who engages in numerous interpersonal relationships in order to feel again but ultimately it just leads to less than desired situations. The track is summed up by the chorus as Violet sings "F_in the Rain is fine when your heart's on fire"

The second track "Fallin'" has that quintessential jazz aesthetics with progressive chords, soft drum grooves, and smooth horn passes that exude a relaxing and somewhat nostalgic vibe. Here, Violet talks about regaining one's position after feeling they are lost.  Violet delivers a soul-stirring performance ripe with sultry and layered melodies and even throws in a laidback whispered rap verse before Slim Guerilla enters the fray and shares his thoughts on the matter as well.
