Veteran Canadian DJ/producer DJ Unknown has an illustrious career spanning two decades and a multitude of live sets, collaborations, and projects under his belt. He is currently working on a new project but in the interim, he shares the single "Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars" featuring Toronto-based rapper and producer Raz Fresco. Those in the know would recognize the title and its inspiration immediately (Google the name William Cooper for more information) as it digs deep into the underbelly of urban warfare and decay. The dark menacing production sure fits the gloomy lyrics and overall graphic details laid out by Raz. Lines like "You can't contain the sun's flames/2-way gunplay over the drug change/The streets talk back to me, she said I have seen enough pain in my days/ my tears is like opening up a floodgate" sees him reflecting on the sad state of affairs in the streets and the need to take caution with every step.
In 2023 Dj Unknown aims to cultivate his fan base and further establish himself with his unique blend of storytelling through music. Dj Unknown aims to enthrall listeners with an epic science fiction tale of life on a dystopian earth, and what it would be like to leave Earth in search of meaning – all through a psychedelic audio-visual narrative.
