French beat-maker Ugly Tony first made his bones with his 2011 album At Nightfall, and now he returns with this cinematic record "Our Kind Of Rap" taken from his new album Time Flies. "Our Kind Of Rap" has the quintessential sound of traditional rap with its thick boom-bap drums and cinematic texture made up of ominous brass stabs, thick basslines and layered ominous strings taken from a dark sci-fi flick. Ugly Tony already set the tone and recruits the talents of rappers M9 (from the UK), veteran El Gant, Fel Sweetenberg and Respect Tha God who all deliver the goods with efficiency. From start to finish, listeners are bombarded by the pure energy and raw lyrical display from these emcees who show us that true lyricists still exist.
Before the album release, Tony released a total of 4 singles with emcees Journalist 103, Marv Won, The AbSoulJah, Edo. G and Shabaam Sahdeeq. Other emcees on the album are ETO, Ciph Barker, Sean Boog, Snook Da Crook, Bambino BHS and HalfaBrick.
