Liverpool-based neoclassical artist and composer, Tom Ashbrook, showcases his exceptional talent for electronic production in his latest single, "Nocturne III." We've been a fan of Ashbrook for a while now and his serene and masterful approach to neo-classical compositions, with "Nocturne III" Ashbrook ventures into new territory with this intricate and detailed track. The song begins with a melancholic atmosphere that gradually builds, leading to the introduction of a Four-Tet-esque layered drum pattern. This fusion of delicate piano performance and intricate percussion creates a mesmerizing blend of classical and electronic elements.

Ashbrook's musical journey started with classical piano training at a young age, which instilled in him a deep appreciation for the emotional and narrative aspects of film soundtracks. In "Nocturne III," he ingeniously incorporates these techniques, integrating synth and contemporary music production to craft a unique sonic experience. Ashbrook's collaborations with fellow artists, such as Julia Church and AmyElle, highlight his ability to merge his artistic vision with the talents of others, resulting in captivating and noteworthy musical creations.

Speaking on the new single, Ashbrook states:

"Noct 3 is modern concept piece inspired by contemporary dance and an evening travel piece, consisting of 8 intricate piano recordings, and a down tempo house best made from recording parts of the piano I intended to create a modern nocturne concept

Harmonically touching upon the likes of radio head and such film scores from shawshank redemption and such tension within the melody and chord structure I wanted to show the tensions of getting through the day and truely letting go at night

The dance video explores how we release energy at this time and connect with others, the blue hour and this particular time frame frames our natural beings and where our minds wonder at night"
