Rising Nottingham, UK-based neo-soul duo MELONYX have shown us that they are here to stay with their style of futuristic soul draped in retro aesthetics. Their latest release "At The Door" is the follow-up to their last single "Solar Power" and continues their blend of soul-stirring releases with the fellow Nottingham-based veteran artist Joe Buhdha. Over a sublime dub/soul-infused backdrop made up of a hypnotic 3 step dub drum groove, lovers' rock textures and a classic sample flip (one would miss it if you don't pay attention), the duo of Georgia Copeland and Nadia Latoya offer a loving invitation delivered in crystal clear terms. From the sultry layered harmonies and rousing melodic runs that rise in the chorus section, the duo implores lovers to surrender the ego at the door and meet each other at a concord where true love resides.
The accompanying video is bolstered by the moody and dark lighting that harks back to retro house parties caught on tape and focuses on true intimacy with no games.
"At The Door" is taken from their upcoming debut album ‘Soul Glow (out 7th July)
