Wolf Mane is a “Big Bag Wolf”, and his latest album shows it

Growing up listening to Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd, the sound of classic rock inspired Cincinnati native Wolf Mane to start writing his own music. Eventually finding Kurt Cobain and Chris Cornell, Wolf Mane turned to music as a creative outlet – and it stuck. With an unorthodox and emotionally sporadic sound, Wolf Mane has been experimenting with music for the past 10 years – and it shows. With his latest release, "Big Bag Wolf", booming 808s meet psychedelic soundscapes to create a hip-hop album like no other.

"Big Bag Wolf" kicks off with "James Bond Coupe", immediately setting the mood with ambient beats, heavy drops, and crisp vocals. Released on October 18, 2022, the album is made up of a variety of sounds – from chill piano to melodic 80s synthesizers – and the variety of the beats goes to prove Wolf Mane's versatility as an artist. While no song sounds quite the same, the album as a whole is un-skippable. Listeners experience a journey, from the nostalgic-sounding beat in "2 Slow" to fast-paced bars we hear in "Parchment", listeners of all tastes are bound to enjoy at least one song off the album. And as it comes to an end, we're met with "David Spade" – cue the nostalgic 80s synth. You can tell Wolf Mane poured blood, sweat, and tears into this album – and we couldn't be more impressed with the result.
