Prophet the Artist throws all strikes on '3 Major' EP

Newark-based emcee Prophet the Artist makes his EARMILK debut today, flexing his pen game, versatility, and uncapped potential on a new EP titled 3 Major.

"Where 6 At," the EP's opening act, kicks things off with a bang. Prophet dispenses flame emoji bars at a breakneck pace, clever lines about splurging in the Diamond District and keeping rivals on high alert. The beat hardly gets a chance to breathe, but with Prophet on the mic, it doesn't need to.

The tentpole track on 3 Major, accompanied by some slick visuals, is "On My Shit," an infectious single featuring Icewear Vezzo. Prophet's low-key delivery is high-key lethal. He flaunts a smooth, conversational flow meshing nicely with a hook that invites listeners to "go and tell 'em" he's next up.

"Never Gon Stop" could have very well been a single, but serves as an effective closer. Prophet shelves the darker production of the first two songs for a lighter, cathartic sound. His melodic flow and storytelling chops take center stage and prove that any beat thrown his direction is leaving the ballpark.

Overall, 3 Major is a formidable trifecta of blaps from a rapper who grows more potent with each new drop. Whether you're cruising down the interstate or grinding on the clock, you'll want to keep this one on repeat.
