Girly! is a young up-and-coming artist, native to the DMV area. Although his current imprint in the music industry is small, he is bound to make waves with his familiar style of laid-back jazz rap, similar to the likes of artists such as Earl Sweatshirt and Joey Badass. His latest project was a self-titled EP, including five powerful tracks that make a clear name for himself.

The first track, “MOTION” is a catchy track describing the toil when yearning for communication from a lover. Girly! Raps, “baby tell me the emotion motion, baby tells me whats the motion”. This track's instrumental has cool deep synths, met with lovely piano chords, allowing the rap to stand out.

The second track, ‘MY WORLD” starts with blaring trumpets and has a snappy snare throughout. He comes in boasting with pride about the joy he experiences in life. He toys with wordplay throughout the track, and the catchy chorus is what lures listeners in. He sings, “This is my world, and who are you”, bragging about his confidence and success.

“TIRED (INTERLUDE)” is the third on the EP, and is a euphonious, looped track that is backed by a smooth guitar track. It is a soft love song where the instrumental is allowed to stand out due to the repetitive nature of the lyrical content.

The fourth track on the EP, “TRIPLE DOUBLE” is a collaboration with artist Jixie and acts as a power ballad for the two with the inclusion of blaring horns in the back. The two fluently transfer rhymes back and forth, compelling audiences to tap into everything they have to say.

The final track on the EP, “ME/MYSELF” is a mellow ending of the EP, and is a letter to a friend, describing his struggle entering the industry. The song starts with a beautiful piano melody and is truly a confessional to the friend he's speaking to.
