Releasing their new textural, multi-instrumental single is MAYN, with “Please Don’t Say You’re With Somebody”, featuring New Jersey based singer and producer Caroline Byrne. Throughout the single, Bryne’s soulful and haunting vocal style works effortlessly with MAYN’s steady electronica infused RnB sound. Released via Cut From Marble Recordings, the new single carefully layers lush synthesizer sounds over hypnotic rhythmic samples and textures.
The single comes after Maynard and Caroline met remotely during the pandemic through mutual friends. Their creative ideas quickly came to light through writing sessions. With a meaning of having lost a single connection, the new single is an emotive and deeply personal love letter to someone too far to reach out too. Speaking on the new single MAYN writes, “I connect with music that invites escape—songs that paint a picture of a place not yet explored, one that provides a retreat from reality. My hope is to share some of the worlds I’ve discovered with my own music to offer the same sense of departure and exploration for others.”
