Los Angeles-based experimental pop singer Opāru has just unveiled her latest single and music video. Entitled "Gold", the song is the title track to her new synth pop-infused four-song EP.
With "Gold", Opāru has crafted a narrative all about finding hope and inner peace. The EP takes the listener on a journey towards finding clarity and with "Gold", the song is the final destination, one of accomplishment and happiness. Lyrics including, "just a step away / a step away / from home / when everything is made of Gold", shows that Opāru is ready to surrender into acceptance and so close to finding nirvana. Sonically, "Gold" is a lush synth-pop affair complete with cinematic orchestral pop sonics and soaring vocals. The powerful and emotive ballad shimmers with elevated soundscapes and warm soul-drenched vocals for an intoxicating listen. The music video shows Opāru singing in a gorgeous natural backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.
Opāru is the musical project of New Mexico-born and bred and now Los Angeles-based songwriter, singer, and actress Dianna St. Hilaire. Her band Versailles found success attracting the attention of Kim Fowley (The Runaways, Kiss) and charting on Billboard. With Opāru, St. Hilaire dives more into synth-pop telling the stories of relatable human struggles. Gold is the third EP from this prolific songwriter.
