Psyence delves into mental health on "Nobody Understands"

Alt-rock quintet Psyence reflect on their personal struggles and mental health on guitar-driven anthem “Nobody Understands,” taken from their upcoming album Lessons In Forgetting Everything (L.I.F.E). Led by gritty vocals over a menacing soundscape the track balances an explosive production with vulnerable lyricism.

An exploration of the deepest nooks of our minds, the introspective yet relatable track written during the 2021 lockdown weaves a powerful image with song writing like “My mind is a weapon and it’s built to self-destruct/I am my own worst enemy,” as it acknowledges our battles within ourselves while empowering us to overcome it.

Starting as a collaboration between school friends in Staffordshire, West Midlands, Psyence consisting of Steve Pye, Jay Bellingham, Joe Walsh, Ben Nixon and Jamie Cartlidge have grown consistently since their first EP in 2017, honing their anthemic rock sound with a personable touch to resonate with anyone listening.
