Classically trained pianist and cellist Sofya Wang caught our attention some years back and now she returns with two new singles from her forthcoming project. The LA-raised first-generation Chinese-American is slowly carving her way on the unbeaten path with her unique style of writing and unapologetic stance on her sexuality, and humanity and breaking free from traditional constraints. She is fully hands-on with her music and besides songwriting and singing, she also produces her own music.
The first record "Closer to You" starts off on a low tone and rises with a punchy drum groove and reflective textures that bolsters Sofya's commanding vocal runs and layered harmonies. The record dwells on building a relationship and being the eternal comfort to one's partner. She explores the ups and downs of love while the music seeks out ways to find a common ground no matter how difficult it gets.

The second single "Attention" sees her venturing into the pop department with a bright bubbly backdrop and punchy 4/4 drum arrangement. The record details a candid request from a lover to her partner to never shy away from the love they have and if a need for attention is required, she will be more than happy to fulfill it. Sofya seamlessly weaves her sultry vocals over the colourful backdrop with a plethora of melodic inflections.
