Marking the third single to his fourth album, Kadako, Michael Sebastian returns with stunning new single "Godoye," out now.
A multi-genre, electronic expert, Michael Sebastian's "Godoye" makes for a driving breakbeat cut, inspired by esteemed duo Bicep’s drum machine wizardry that expands into a euphoric club powerhouse with an eastern twist. With influences of the likes of Christian Loffler, Caribou and Four Tet also shining through, Michael Sebastian is firmly leading as the next generation of talent to rise through the ranks of left-field electronica.
The full album Kadako continues to expand on his sound and sees the South African-born artist develop his practice beyond live-looped compositions into full scale dance floor ready productions. Kadako's lead single Yana has already received wide praise as well as follow up Duma, whilst the full album explores melancholy elements as well as contrasting jubilant tones, inspired by memories of London warehouse raves to the serene yoga studios he's spent time at.
Fusing meditative minimalism with anthem potential, the full album is destined to take listeners on a ride. Written in the depths of lockdown, Kadako channels the frustration of club closures as well as the the censorship and isolation faced at that time. Initially set to be an ambient journey from start to finish, what came out was a lot harder hitting to align with the emotions through that unknown period. This new release sees Michael Sebastian dive deeper into analog synthesis, combined with his main instrument guitar to imitate, replicate and recreate synth lines, demonstrating once more a true talent and one to watch in his field.
