Daimy Lotus makes her feelings known on "Pathetic"

An empowering alt-rock offering from Dutch singer/songwriter Daimy Lotus, "Pathetic" is the break-up anthem we've been desperately in need of. Daimy isn't afraid to make her feelings known, as she inspires listeners to own their power and not settle for anything less than they deserve.

Reminiscent of the tones of Avril Lavigne with a sultry vocal delivery fit for the TikTok age, Daimy isn't afraid to dose up her sound with rhythmic toplines and put herself up there with the likes of GAYLE and Leah Kate. Bringing in the lo-fi, party-next-door tones to ease us into the track, Daimy drops crystal-clear and reverberated, mellow guitar lines and crunchy strums under her powerful chorus, creating a sing-a-long, irresistible anthem.

The track is less of a direct message to an ex, but more of an outlet for Daimy to express her pent-up frustrations over poor treatment in the past. She elaborates, "there wasn’t a specific person that came to mind while writing this song,"

"I just had this kinda aggressive and disgusted feeling coming up while hearing the chords that were played, so I knew I had to tap into that and the fuckboy-theme is what came out of it. The fact that I couldn’t link it to one specific person is because I’ve had many messed up experiences where guys would just walk all over me, pushing my limits to get what they want and never even consider once what I wanted."

Daimy Lotus wants our feelings to be valid, seen and heard, and her modern alt-rock sound bridges connections between thoughts and feelings- making us realize we're not alone.
