Johnny Stranger shares an explosive new rock single "January Knives." The hard hitting track follows "Bones (Bury Me Deeply & Sweetly)" released earlier this year.
With "January Knives" Johnny Stranger creates a song all about perseverance when life is difficult. According to the press release, the track was inspired after lead singer Peter Anthony experienced massive changes and loss after he moved to Boston from the Pacific Northwest.
He confides, "the goal was to pursue Johnny Stranger relentlessly, but after only a month the other members of the band left for other opportunities. I was suddenly alone in a completely new place, with no friends and no path forward. Plus, it was the coldest place I’ve ever been. The song is about that first month alone and my resolve to persevere."
Change can be hard but Johnny Stranger reminds us all with "January Knives" that what doesn't kill us makes us indeed stronger. With thrashing guitars, vivacious drumming and climbing melodies, "January Knives" is an intense single that is equally riveting as it is important in message.
