East London musician Chinwe explores the bittersweet feeling of a fleeting romance on “Something Beautiful,” delving into falling in love with someone knowing it won’t last yet choosing to enjoy the euphoria and live in the moment.

Led by a guitar soundscape that’s quickly become the heart of her artistry as well as her soulful vocals, the track is tender and joyous simultaneously. With a lush jazz instrumentation punctuated by intricate percussive backdrop, the track highlights Chinwe’s Nigerian and Jamaican heritage, her smooth but husky voice resting upon rich instrumentation.

Inspired by the likes of Nina Simone and Portishead, this rising star who began writing songs as a teenager, finding solace in the guitar and more recently the harp, Chinwe captivates us with meditative melodies and emotive song writing all coming together to provide warmth, love and comfort to those listening.
