Seattle indie act Smokey Brights share gentle production “Ocean Shores,” rooted in their signature of wistful joy. Led by honeyed vocals from married songwriting duo Kim West and Ryan Devlin, the track is built on warm layers of soft synths, fuzzy guitars and grounded beats pulling us into the intimacy of their sonic world.
Partly anthemic and partly oozing feel-good lulling vibes, "Ocean Shores" sees West’s melodic voice play off Devlin’s deeper tones crafting a transportive offering framed by comfort and hope.
With West and Devlin’s lyrical and vocal prowess, complimented by rhythmic beats from drummer Nick Krivchenia as well as inventive basslines and backing vocals from Luke Ragnar, the quartet have risen through their ability to craft personal yet relatable tales.
Having pushed through the struggles and anxieties of 2020 to deliver an expansive range of new material, Smokey Brights continue to hone their alchemic indie musicianship with careful precision and raw passion, heightening anticipation for their forthcoming LP.
