Emerging LA-raised rapper and singer OHNO presents his new EP titled Sunshine In A Bag. The 5-track project is a reflection of who he is and what drives him. From his troubled childhood, finding solace in music, and getting small wins across the years, OHNO puts it all on wax for the entire world to feel.

OHNO · Sunshine In A Bag

The EP starts off with “Drowsy”, a solemn tune that dwells on depression and feeling lost in this crazy world. Backed by a bouncy guitar-driven pop soundscape, OHNO delivers a melancholic performance ripe with alluring melodies and reflective lyrics that detail his personal struggles. Next up is the moody trap banger “Como ves” where he delivers his verse in both Spanish and English over the punchy soundscape laid before him. The track is a blend of bravado and a sprinkle of his life as he climbs up the ladder of success.

On “fais moi l’amour”, he shares a bit of what makes him tick as a young artist and the effects of the love growing inside of him. OHNO goes for a pop sound in “Madness” and channels his singing spirit with a laidback melodic performance and evocative lyrics about being deeply in love with an individual who seems to be fleeting. The final track “Pasado” sees him returning to his rap roots as he flexes his lyrical style while reflecting on the past over the punchy and ethereal trap instrumental.  Overall, the project is a seamless mix of pop with trap elements and OHNO seamlessly weaves through the genres with ease. Another thing to note is how short a couple of the tracks are with “Como ves” and  “fais moi l’amour” falling under the 2-minute mark while most tracks are under 3 minutes with a total of 12 minutes which in a way makes for a quick perusal allowing new listeners to easily get acquainted.

OHNO was born in Anaheim in the '90s and was inspired by a wide range of artists from Chris Brown’s dancing and singing to also listened to everything from Ciara and Gang Starr, to Debbie Deb, Zapp, Roger, and more. He started rapping under the moniker Relevant and was a member of the collective called Atlast that focused on making boom-bap rap. He released his first projects, The Burgundy and Chips & Hennessy in 2014 and later decided to expand his musical scope and try new modern styles leading to his current melodic-driven sound.
