Black Pines share evocative single "Saint"

Essex, UK band Black Pines have returned with a new single called "Saint". Following up a flurry of releases over the last few years, including the sharply-crafted singles "Heaven’s Son" and "Power", and their stripped-back collection ‘Isolation Tapes’ in early 2021, they have now returned with a passionate alt-rock offering in "Saint", which forecasts their upcoming EP Talk Of The Devil. Topically the single is poignant, functioning as a form of therapy for the band, written whilst dealing with grief and loss.

"Saint" opens with brooding, nocturnal keys before expansive vocals and subtle synths are added to create a shimmering, layered soundscape. Building dynamically throughout the verses as sturdy percussion and addictive bass are added to create an intoxicating groove, "Saint" showcases focused songwriting and provides potent lyrics that are evocatively introspective in tone. Capped off by a memorable, powerful hook, "Saint" is a track that is as dark as it is catchy, contrasting soaring sonics with grittier textures.

The latest from Essex act Black Pines, "Saint" makes for a dark, emotive offering, and will appear on their upcoming EP Talk of the Devil.
