Fly Anakin is a rapper from Richmond, Virginia, and is the co-founder of the Richmond rap collective Mutant Academy. In 2020, he released FlySiifu with Pink Siifu and an EP titled $mokebreak. It's a reflective season for the VA lyricist who drops a new single, "No Dough," chronicling his journey in the rap game. Bolstered by the production prowess of the legendary Westcoast producer/rapper Madlib, Fly Anakin gives a synopsis of his past till the present. Armed with his gruff vocal and energetic performance style, he reminds the naysayers of their folly and his own growth as an artist and a man with self-worth. The record is pretty short, clocking below two minutes, but it's quite dense and packed with Fly Anakin's distinct lyrical styling and rhyme scheme.
The single comes with a cinematic visual by Skyler Vander Molen. It has urgent energy as it follows the rapper on a quick mission to get back what he is owed while maneuvering through the goons who might want to get a drop on him. "No Dough" is the lead single from Fly Anakin’s forthcoming album Frank in March. The project has features from Pink Siifu, Richmond hero Nickelus F and Mutant Academy's Big Kahuna OG and Henny L.O.
