Get one thing straight about acclaimed New York singer Myles Cameron; he is nothing less than a genius songwriter and storyteller. His newest release "Heaven's Hands" showcases his knack for catchy yet true-to-self songwriting on yet another perfect gem of summery melodicism, chock-full of quotables and anecdotes that would put most other singer/songwriters to shame.
A return to the slow ballads of Cameron's earlier work ("Caged Bird", "Yellow"), "Heaven's Hands" is a tender embrace from the singer's heaven-sent vocal chords. Made for calm summer mornings or sun-kissed afternoons, it's a great sendoff to summer as the solstice quickly approaches. "Give me dopamine, ya know what I mean" Cameron croons in his second verse, exemplifying the cheeky love song undertones scattered throughout the guitar-driven and anthemic cut. The track ends with the powerful "You can get what you want, if you want" mantra repeated as the outro, as vocals intertwine with guitar to fill out the thoroughly authentic offering. It just feels like a cut that was made for memories to be made to it, a fondly remembered ode to the good times yet to come.
The final single before his Black Boys Look Blue EP release on October 1, "Heaven's Hands" is Cameron truly in his element. Bursting with shimmering nu-R&B flair from start to finish, this is mood music at its best. It's a song that is incapable of leaving you in a worse mood than when you started listening, and for that, Cameron deserves all the credit in the world.
