Mr. Green and Lil Wayne bumrush the "Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles"

Hip-hop production heavyweight Mr. Green teams up with Lil Wayne for a gritty new collaboration titled "Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles." It's quite a mouthful but the brief track packs a punch with its dusty, menacing textures, and crunchy drum breaks that sound like something from an '80s mid-budget action flick.

The New Orleans native is in mixtape mode as he delivers his signature bravado-laced wordplay peppered with his offbeat cadence over the blunted instrumental laid before him. From taking shots at his opponents like seals clapping to throwing them off buildings hoping they can fly, Lil Wayne sure delivers in this one-verse affair.

The track serves as the fifth entry in the New York beatsmith’s ongoing series that pairs rappers like Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, and the late DMX with instrumentals inspired by low-budget ninja movies from the 1980s. Each cut has demonstrated not just Green’s talents behind the boards, but his ability to bring an original and complementary aesthetic to the rapper in question.

Get "Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles" on all DSPs here and stay tuned for more releases from Green’s ongoing series.
