Zaywop Season is in full gear as Isaiah Rashad blesses fans with the new single “Headshots”. The Chattanooga rapper dropped the long-awaited track as he gets ready for the release of his forthcoming LP, The House is Burning. During his hiatus, Isaiah teased a number of new songs to assure fans that the music was on the way. Yet none caused more anticipation than his latest track when it was previewed on his IG Live early last year. As it was previously unconfirmed if the song would drop in its entirety, “Headshots” finally gets to see the light of day.

The single is a smooth groove with a lot of familiar elements that are indistinguishable to Isaiah’s signature sound. As an artist known to make “music for the vibers”, the lo-fi instrumental is his bread and butter. In the middle of switching flows every few bars, Isaiah shows growth in his pen and even himself as he catches fans up on his recent realizations.

It’s rare to see snippets of an artist’s new music live up to the hype and Isaiah accomplishes doing so. “Headshots” is already looking like another fan favorite and a promising sign for what’s coming next for his upcoming album.
