As Lex Leosis prepares to drop her new EP in the summer, she thrills us with a fun-filled, fast-paced visual for her single "Wanted." The record sees her working with a quartet of musicians who provide her with the perfect heist music. The production is spearheaded by Korean producer BMJT and Rainer Blanchaer (Toronto) while Taabu is on drum duties and Quebecois DJ Killa-Jewelz provides the smooth cuts on the chorus section. Leosis is in top form as expected and with her laidback flow and evocative lyrics, she takes listeners into her world where she is giving the world the proverbial middle finger.
For the visuals, she teams up with director Sharleen Meinke who helps bring her cinematic vision to life. The visual team tap into the spirit of the female outlaw and classic flicks like Thelma and Louise, Heist, Catch Me If You Can and the result is a hi-octane piece that follows Leosis and her partner in crime Keysha Freshh as they race through the town with no care in the world. The visual has a '90s rock aesthetic to it with plenty of nostalgic visuals reminiscent of early MTV alt-rock videos.
"Wanted" is taken from Leosis's forthcoming EP, Terracotta, which will be dropping just in time for summer on July 9. The EP is executively produced by Rainer Blanchaer (Drake, The Weeknd, French Montana, The 1975), whom she met via a roommate and they have been working extensively all through the pandemic.
