After making a "BOLD" statement with her debut single, Canadian rapper Charmaine continues her musical campaign with a brand new video for her song "DOUBLE DUTCH" which sees her channeling the spirit of the great Miss Elliot and mercieless emcees that paved the foundation for her. The track is a bouncy hard-hitting jam that is ripe with off-kilter bars bolstered by her extremely animated flow and cadence. Charmaine proves she is not one to play with and can hang with the best of them while having fun. The verses are energetic and dive into being self resilient while she resorts to being cheeky on the chorus section.
The visuals directed by Spencer Edwards are highly engaging and features the rapper flaunting culture and couture in her own unique way. There are quite a lot of elements to unpack, from the expressive dance routines, bright and gaudy costumes, and cinematic set pieces that emphasize her style. "DOUBLE DUTCH" is taken from Charmaine's debut EP, Hood Avant Garde.
Stream/download "DOUBLE Dutch" on major platforms here. She is currently preparing for an intimate closed invite-only session on clubhouse where she will be talking to former MTV host, Jasmine Solano on Wednesday, June 23rd.
