Most of us struggle with the daily grind of our lives and all the constant stresses that come with that. It helps having someone who is there to make those pressures a bit simpler. Indie pop artist jak Ivr details that sentiment in his soft, dreamy single “Take a Ride”. The track highlights infectious vocals floating atop glistening beats. The easy-going quality of the tune lulls listeners into pure relaxation. Singing, “I think it will haunt me less if I can just keep you around,” you sense this deep need for companionship to get through life’s many obstacles.

Formerly front man of North East group Llovers, his solo work showcases a newly discovered self-awareness and vulnerability. The song is off his debut EP Call It Love (If You Want To) set for release September 10th. Ivr reveals, “‘Take A Ride’ is about feeling ground down over time, struggling with the day-to-day but having someone that makes the whole thing a little easier. I like the sentiment that romanticism comes from a place like that. Like a light at the end of the tunnel of cynicism”. Check out the wistful wave of “Take a Ride” now.
