King Green first came into my consciousness when he featured on the hard-hitting "Caterpillar" by Royce da 5'9 and Eminem a few years ago. His new release "Sorta" sees him working with longtime collaborator singer Vanela and producers Jaypitts and Langston Bristol whom he met via social media.
Inspired by his experience on TikTok while meeting new artists of similar mindsets, the track samples vocals from Miu Miu Guitar girl's performance and layers it over bright guitars and strings. King Green taps into the happy mood of the production and reflects on life, love, and light. Singer Vanela also adds a nice sublime performance to the track giving it a nostalgic and heartwarming feeling. From self-love, maintaining healthy relationships, to basically doing what makes you happy within, King Green offers a universal message that we all can rock to.
