Your Girl Pho is a Perth-based emerging singer and producer whose new release "Co Star" caught our ears. The pandemic may have slowed things down a bit for Pho's famous live performances, but she is still pushing forward with this upbeat pop-infused track inspired by an astrology app of the same name.
Backed by Matt Bartlem’s (Lastlings, Boo Seeka) sleek production that is ripe with crunchy drums and atmospheric keys, Pho delivers a punchy performance with her wide vocal range and vibrant energy. Her performance is carefree and spirited, but it's her unapologetic aura that seals the deal. The way she switches from laid-back to energetic styles is quite interesting and she even adds a bit of melodic rap into the mix.
"Co Star" is the first taste from her forthcoming debut EP and in the interim, she has gone back to performing live shows with her 4-piece band, in her home state of Western Australia.
