The emerging songstress, Lex puts her confidence on full display with delicate vocals and headstrong lyrics in this latest single, “Personal.” The accompanying music video follows the R&B singer around her bedroom, capturing each seductive angle to the spellbinding vocal performance. The sultry track has already garnered success landing on the official soundtrack for the new thriller movie, Fatale.

“Personal” features a smooth R&B beat with bass-heavy undertones. Lex’s voice floats over the melody with a serene calmness. Each lyric is an ode to personal recognition. She harmonizes, “Honestly I like you but I love me.” The lyrics explain the true value of loving oneself before anything else. The aesthetic of the accompanying music video is soft and cozy. Lex sits on a bed surrounded by cherry blossoms. A neon sign in the background reads, “Am I dreaming?” The singer grasps her diamond necklace in the shape of an “L,” signifying her self-love. She exudes a flirty playfulness with every transition to the chorus.

The Alaska native and Los Angeles transplant wants to give listeners an idea of who she is and what she stands for. When describing her creative process, she states, “I want the girls to understand that they’re more than enough and we are all bossy women on our own.” Followers can anticipate more empowering new music in the near future from the up and coming artist.

I am a digital marketer and publicist with a passion for A&R and music management. Originally from Southern California, I spent many years as a transplant in the Midwest in the St. Louis and Chicago areas. Now I am back in sunny Los Angeles. Besides my professional life, I enjoy music of all genres with a sweet spot for hip-hop/rap. I love my west coast rap and all things Tupac, Kendrick, Nipsey, etc. I am always down to go to a show, whether the venue be the smallest hole in the wall or the largest arena.
