Neo-soul/funk act Joy Nesbitt first caught our ears a while back when she released the summer-tinged single "Outside." She now returns to the fore with a brand new single "Body" which sees her working with singer LEMMONS. "Body" has a soothing and mesmerizing instrumental that is also nostalgic in some ways but more importantly, plays the perfect canvas for the singers. It's a nice blend of styles with Nesbitt's calm draw and LEMMONS's slightly high-pitched tone joining forces to create a special moment.
Dwelling on the delicate issue of body positivity and being comfortable in one's own skin, the duo explores the many facets of the situation. From self-doubt, lack of confidence, and seeking external validation, the artists run through the gamut of emotions and also show the process of finding strength in their body regardless of what society says.
Joy Nesbitt is presently a student at Harvard college but she is always working on new music.
