Acclaimed producer lau.ra makes her highly anticipated return with new single "Don’t Waste My Time" alongside rising vocalist JessB, available now via Needwant.

Packing weighty percussion that builds the foundation to an athemic garage infused tune, JessB’s effortless lyricism flow amongst lau.ra’s grooving layers of melodic vocal riffs and chunky drum patterns. Paying homage to the old skool, whilst spanning genres of bass, rap and UKG, "Don’t Waste My Time" is a relentless genre-bending affair boasting forward-thinking qualities destined for the dance floor. “I made this a while back with Jess B, Flo Wilson, and Angel Tairua in one afternoon while on a very brief trip to Aukland, NZ," lau.ra says. "Sometimes tracks come together so quickly the process of making them becomes a blur and that’s certainly true for this tune. When I’m producing music my main focus is always on capturing an energy and personality that will carry the whole tune, in this case Jess B delivered a stellar performance in one take that gelled so well with the UKG/bass inspired basics that I already had on the go. The energy in the room was right that day and this tune just spilled out of us start to finish. We certainly didn’t waste any time making it."

This new single for 2021 follows a slew of success for lau.ra who graced listeners with lockdown banger “Wicked”, and “Get Creative” which picked up widespread support including a spot on 6 Music’s radio playlist, a BBC Introducing session, 20+ million streams and more. Also riding the waves of success under alternative monikers Ultraísta and alt pop act FEMME, lau.ra is swiftly becoming known as a force to be reckoned with, acquiring the impressive and sought after ability to have tastemaker authority across a multitude of sonic landscapes.

lau.ra's “Don’t Waste My Time” (feat. JessB) is out now, buy, download or stream here.
