Marco Luka returns with anthemic new single, "Big Talk"

Marco Luka is poised to take over in 2021. After a spree of successful releases in 2019, the Durham, North Carolina artist went quiet for almost all of 2020. Quiet no longer, Luka is back with his new single and music video for “Big Talk”. After a year in the making, including a studio session with Zion Williamson, and a snippet that has been in heavy rotation since last March, the long-awaited track and accompanying music video is finally here. And they both delivered.

Big Talk is an anthemic, hard-hitting, and bass-driven banger that is destined for the charts. The production, done by Nick Nash, Cash Paradox, and grammy nominated Ric & Thadeus, is filled with thumping drums and an eerie melody. Luka capitalizes on the hard-hitting vibe of the production with lyrics about flexing, money, and girls. Further than the lyrics, it Luka’s flows and voice that really stand out. Whether he is rapping or belting out a hook, he does it all on the track.

The music video, directed by the talented Nicholas Jandora, takes the song from a completely different angle. Throughout the video, Luka is in a trashed apartment, with everything from leftovers to dirty dishes to one filthy milkshake. He’s dressed in a dingy bathrobe and posts up with normal cars with cardboard cutout enhancements. It’s a sight for sure. Ultimately, the video flips the clout and money-driven narrative of the track, showing that you can still flex up when you’re down bad.

With a dope music video and a thumping new anthem under his belt, 2021 is off to a hot start for the Durham native. Luka’s sound is so full and he will often blend genres seamlessly throughout releases. It won’t be surprising to see a more rock or alternative vibe with the next single. Regardless of the genre, Luka is focused on making 2021 his year, and he is on track so far.
