Following a recent collaboration on Alan Fitzpatrick's We Are The Brave, Gaston Zani and Uto Karem join forces yet again on a two-track EP entitled "Pisces". Known as one of the pioneers of techno in the Neapolitan region of Italy, Uto Karem has truly made a name for himself in the techno scene over the years. Much like Karem, Gaston Zani has also established himself as a notable artist in the technosphere with releases on some of the biggest labels in industry including Carl Cox's Intec and Eats Everything's EI8HT.
The title track kicks off the release with some serious peak-time energy destined for the late night dancefloor. The lead track sets the tone of the release with its raw kick drum and thrashing off-beat percussion before introducing acid stabs and muffled vocals. "Pisces" incorporates influences from Detroit-style techno production with its industrialized sound and stabs that make for an undeniable techno gem.
Closing out the release, "Kontrol" Utilizes rolling synths and a fast-flowing synth to up the tempo on this release. This unrelenting track takes the listener to the darker end of the techno spectrum much like the lead track.
Pisces marks the third collaborative release from the two, with prior singles released on We Are The Brave and Umek's 1605.
