Emerging St. Louis rapper, JayBaby TheGreaty showcases his versatile style and sound on latest release, “STONY.” The accompanying music video features simplistic surveillance style shots along with a guest appearance from Smino. Directed by ILLIMITÉWORLD, the lucid video adds to the rapper’s grimy flair.

“STONY” is an upbeat listen that blends deep raps with high pitch vocals. JayBaby teams up with fellow St. Louis artist, Teff Deezy to vibe with the trap beat. The single begins with the main hook, “Get the money, get the dough, watch me flex.” The bass is prominent throughout the entire track with “Whah” hovering over every count. The rapper’s structured bars effortlessly morph into the melodic tempo. Produced by TDE’s Kal Banx, “STONY” highlights the rapper’s charisma as well as his adaptability to merge with any beat.

Despite being based in Atlanta, the rapper is staying true to his St. Louis roots following the musical success of his family. His mother and Motown Records star, Penelope Jones was the first St. Louis female artist to sign a solo major record deal. After his appearance on Smino’s mixtape, She Already Decided, JayBaby is preparing for his upcoming LP release, The Last Dragon later this year. Listeners can anticipate more quality beats and rhythmic verses from the up and coming artist in 2021.

I am a digital marketer and publicist with a passion for A&R and music management. Originally from Southern California, I spent many years as a transplant in the Midwest in the St. Louis and Chicago areas. Now I am back in sunny Los Angeles. Besides my professional life, I enjoy music of all genres with a sweet spot for hip-hop/rap. I love my west coast rap and all things Tupac, Kendrick, Nipsey, etc. I am always down to go to a show, whether the venue be the smallest hole in the wall or the largest arena.
