DEVORA is a new dark pop meets roots rock artist hailing from the deserts of Arizona. Brining the vastness and solitude of desert life with the danger of western outlaws, DEVORA creates a new type of pop music for the masses that is both cinematic and enthralling. Her debut single is entitled “Not Dead Yet” and is all about danger. This danger though is the kind that makes us feel alive, sparking a thrilling adventure full of braveness. “Not Dead Yet” shows us all that we can leave painful situations, strike out on our own and pave a path full of joyous escapades.
Sonically, the track features rowdy grunge infused guitars, free-spirited vocals and driving basslines. DEVORA has succeeded in crafting a sound that is dreamy yet pragmatic, dark yet hopeful and full of bewilderment. According to the press release, the talented artist takes influence from “tales of eerie backroad encounters, route 66, neon-laden casinos and midnight bandits.” It’s a fitting imagery for a small town girl who often got lost in her own imagination and grew up writing short stories, poetry and ultimately introspective lyrics.
